Web Two > MySpace France Launches This Week
[ The Social Networking Blog - Mashable!] Outside of Europe, they have the newly launched MySpace Japan, MySpace Australia and plans to launch MySpace China. It’s certainly worthwhile for MySpace to expand globally, but I doubt they’ll be able to topple the dominant local players - Americans use MySpace because everybody else uses it, and that’s surely the case in countries where other sites are dominant.

The Mu Life: Mashable points out that MySpace currently has about 80 million monthly unique visitors, which is approximately 6 % of the Chinese population. Furthermore, 10% of China’s population is online, which means that if MySpace is able to capitalize on that market, it can potentially double its numbers. (via Cosmos)
