http://joeduck.wordpress.com [Joe Duck] The Mennonites are known for their craftsmanship and honest business dealings.   Today, down at a local planing mill it was interesting to watch how important the social negotiation process was to doing business as my uncle and cousin figured out how to go about getting some raw planks from their tree farm turned into floorboards.  “Are you related to ….?” and “my daughter lives over on your road”

His sermon was called "National Apostasy," and denounced the Nation for turning away from God, and for regarding the Church as a mere institution of society, rather than as the prophetic voice of God, commissioned by Him to warn and instruct the people. The sermon was a nationwide sensation, and is considered to be the beginning of the religious revival known as the Tractarian Movement (so called because of a series of 90 Tracts, or pamphlets addressed to the public, which largely influenced the course of the movement) or as the Oxford Movement (not to be confused with the Oxford Group -- led by Frank Buchman and also called Moral Re-Armament, or MRA -- which came a century later and was quite different). The Elegant Variation: Looking at the x-rays, his doctor commented, “This is the hip of a guy who, if he were just a weekend warrior, would have problems with everyday living.” Instead, Floyd has turned in one of the most remarkable years we’ve seen in modern cycling. I knew Landis had injured his hip years ago, but I had no idea the condition had become chronic. (via Cosmos)

[Jasonsalas.com] The Jason Salas Experience: December 2005: I've made it no secret that even though my company, a TV/radio station and web shop in Guam, does a lot of archival of our own video in our webcast archives, we're planning on strategically having a limited amount of our stuff exposed through Google Video as well so that more people discover our work. But even though we plan to mirror some of the multimedia content we publish to our own site, certainly many companies will forego the traditional approach of self-hosting from their own properties and publish exclusively to Google Video, sacrificing traffic to their own site for greater exposure.
