Web Two > hmmm... online word processing
[if:book] Some of the tech specifics: Writely saves documents in Word and (as of today) Open Office formats, outputs as RSS and to some blogging platforms (not ours), and can also be saved as a simple web page (here's the Writely version of this post). A key feature is that Writely documents can be written and edited by multiple authors, like SubEthaEdit only totally net-based.

Creative Imagination :: Ken McGuire - Ken McGuire: This site was brought to my attention this morning, having launched privately back in August of this year. The reason is came to my attention is that they just announced support for the OpenOffice format. (via Cosmos)
D*I*Y Planner | Paper, productivity & passion: A new file format (OpenDocument) to take advantage of OpenOffice.org Suite 2.0, which of course is a free download. No guarantees are given for backward compatibility to the 1.x series, but since the new version of Draw is significantly better, I highly suggest getting 2.0 anyway. (via Cosmos)
[Techcrunch.com] TechCrunch » Writely - Process Words with your Browser: Brian Benzinger at Solution Watch pointed it out to me this evening during a long Google Talk chat. It is a very functional word processor with most of the bells and whistles you’d expect - a range of fonts and styles, embedded images (up to 2 megs each), spell checker, etc.
[Writely.blogspot.com] Writely Blog: It's already clear that one of the hallmarks of Web 2.0 will be a much, much higher velocity in the application realm. Possibly we'll start to see applications that are customized to individual users on the fly, that connect and optimize groups in surprising ways, that foster global businesses with even more speed than before (we're hearing some really interesting business ideas coming up our of the user base, it's wild).
[Momathome.com] A View from Home: Mom at Home Design is the home of A View From Home, a weblog by New .If you've been reading my blog for a while, you've heard me say this before...
[Blackbeltjones.com] Blackbeltjones/Work:: Backpack, Ta-Da and Writely are all easy to pick up and start using, easy to share, and yet are compelling in their own functional way. Yes, there are more advanced, all-encompassing services out there like Salesforce.com, but though theyre the same thing in a way, they meet completely different needs.
