Bikely - A Bike Route Sharing Google-Maps Remix
[ James Mc Parlane's Blog] Now that Google maps works properly in Australia, someone has built http://www.bikely.com/ a very nice Google Maps remix that allows you to share your favorite bike route. The behind the scenes story is that it was the result of a 4 day marathon coding effort that started right after Google switched on street maps for Australia. I love it.

My Pick List adds Myspace Widget
[TechCrunch] My Pick List has affiliate relationships with the merchants (current list is here), and gives publishers a cut of any sales that occur from the list. It’s similar to Yahoo’s Shoposphere, although Yahoo does not yet share any revenues with the publisher.

Has MySpace jumped the shark? Yes, yes it has. And five reasons why.

Skype-out free till year-end?
[RickMahn.com] Well, we hope our customers will support us by using Skype to make international calls at incredibly cheap rates, or by buying stuff from our store - like Skype Voicemail, perhaps an accessory like headphones to make using Skype even easier, or even a cool ringtone to personalize your Skype.

Teaching ” art or science?
[Change Agency - Advocating a better education system for the 21st Century.] By Stephanie The Eduwonks posted an intriguing question today ” “Is teaching an art or is it a science?” I think its a bit of both ” and that it MUST be a bit of both”¦ heres my logic: The ancient Greek philosophers used the term technê to refer to any ” and all ” of the arts. Actually ” they used the term to refer to any “craft” or “skill” ” they didnt use the word “art” ” and they used it for a wide variety of things: medicine, horsemanship, hunting, herding, farming, calculation, geometry, generalship, piloting a ship, chariot-driving, political craft, prophecy, music, lyre-playing, flute-playing, painting, sculpture, housebuilding, shipbuilding, carpentry, weaving, pottery, smithing, and cooking.

TechCrunch Goes Green
![]()
[TechBeat- BusinessWeek Online] Many of the commenters there aren't so sure about the heavy use of the color green, but as Mike explains: If youre wondering about the green theme, theres a reason for it (hint - it keeps me focused on my goals). Indeed, the notable change is that there's now a more overt revenue model: sponsorships in the form of ads by Riya, First Round Capital, Omnidrive, and others.

Myspace Launches Ad-Supported IM
[Micro Persuasion] It is fascinating to see AOL and MySpace going head to head after each other's turf all in an effort to court marketers hungry for teens. It's like a Web 1.0 company (aspiring to become a 2.0) taking on the crowned prince of Web 2.0.

MySpace IM Launches
[Lack of Motivation] Steve also brings up a good point, that there is space in the IM window for an ad, but again, a la the Opera browser, how long will people put up with having ads they didn't ask for shoved in their face?

goowy, a flashy webtop
[Geekspin] All in all I like what goowy offers it seems to be something that can come in quite handy when you don’t have the convenience of your own computer at hand and the 1 Gig of free storage is definitely handy. I like the way flash has been used to make it feel slick and efficient, the design has some similarities to current Mac software as easily witnessed by the bouncing icons on the toolbars, and the alert sounds they play when a new email arrives is nice and not intrusive, although there is no easy-to-use mute button from what I could see.

Fungow - Social Bookmarking Rebooted
[Mashable*] You can save, sort, share and search through bookmarks, and you can access them from any computer connected to the net. But this is where the similarities end…We use a hierarchical structure that many are already familiar with, kind of like file folders on your computer, but we combine that with the power and flexibility of tags.
